The Hillside City Residence is a self-catering house, located across the bamboo bridge and protected by UNESCO. Stories and legends abound concerning this 150 year old house. It's only a 5 minute walk or a 15 min bicycle ride to the old town of Luang Prabang. As a fully furnished and equipped house it is ideal for couples, families or 2 couples traveling together.
This house is a UNESCO world heritage itself and in the neighbourhood nobody knows its exact age. With great attention to detail we created an atmosphere focused on authentic Lao lifestyle, while still considering the needs and wishes of our Western guests. The mission was to create a unique place that we love and embrace, and that we can share with our guests from all over the world.
Spacious with approximately 170 m² it is ideal to experience traditional authentic village life. Nevertheless, just crossing the bamboo bridge (Oct-June) it takes only a 5 min walk to the town centre and by using the bike bridge only a 15min ride (all year around); 4 bicycles (+ 1 child seat) are provided for free
The house offers 2 air-conditioned bedrooms with 3 queen-sized beds for maximum 6 guests, 2 spacious living areas (each with 60 m²) and a garden courtyard with temple view.
The house is in the centre of Ban Phan Luang, a village just across the Nam Khan River from Luang Prabang old town, it offers a great insight into daily Lao life and a more authentic feel than across the river. The temple Wat Phan Luang is just opposite and like everywhere in Laos it is the nerve centre of the village, so religious life is taking place right in front of your door. Different markets to purchase fresh products as well as several restaurants are all nearby.
